FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is Euro Football Camp?

Euro Football Camp is a five-day football development experience that brings European academy coaches directly from Europe to North America.  Euro Football Camp is a premier football development experience that brings authentic European academy coaching to North America. Our mission is to help every player become a more complete footballer while creating meaningful opportunities for future growth.

Players train in a structured environment influenced by European academy methods, with emphasis on technique, decision-making, tactical understanding, confidence, professional habits and enjoyment of the game.

The central difference is the coaching environment. These are not American based coaches, every coach at the camp currently coach at their respective clubs in Europe- in America just for the camp to teach American players what they teach their players in Europe. Sessions are intended to challenge how players receive information, solve football problems, make decisions and execute skills under pressure. Our coaches bring European academy experience and proven methods that build technical excellenco, tactical understanding, football IQ, confidence and professional habits.

It is a day camp. Housing, overnight supervision and residential services are not included.

The program runs for five days. Euro Football Camp plans up to 30 hours of combined training, tactical education, evaluation and program activity.

The 18+ showcase is for men and women who are at least 18 by the published eligibility date. It may include college players, recent graduates, gap-year players, free agents, unsigned players, eligible club players and other adults seeking a serious evaluation opportunity. The aim of this age group is for assessment by agents and scouts for signing to clubs in Europe and FIFA rules are clear- if you’re not born in Europe, you have to be 18 to get signed by an European club.

The youth camp is designed to accommodate different development levels, subject to safe and appropriate grouping. The 18+ showcase is more demanding and is intended for players who are physically prepared to compete in a serious evaluation environment.

Players will initially be grouped by age and program. Coaches may adjust groups based on position, physical readiness, demonstrated ability, training needs and the quality of the learning environment. A group change is not a ranking, award or recruitment decision.

EuroPathway can help a young player get seen and start preparing for a future opportunity in Europe. European academy coaches, scouts, and football agents will be at the camp to observe players. Our team can give families feedback and, where there is genuine interest, help them understand the next steps.

There is an important age rule. FIFA generally prohibits international transfers of players under 18, with limited exceptions. A camp evaluation or interest from a scout does not override that rule. For an exceptional player, however, the process of evaluation, development, and conversations about a future opportunity can begin before a transfer is permitted. Any next step would involve the player’s parent or guardian and would have to follow FIFA’s rules.

Cavan Sullivan shows how early interest and a later move can be connected. He signed his first professional contract with the Philadelphia Union at 14, with an agreement for a future move to Manchester City. His case also shows why each player’s circumstances matter: reports noted that his German passport could make a move to another European club possible before 18 under an applicable exception. Ricardo Pepi developed at FC Dallas and transferred to Germany at 18; Paxten Aaronson developed with the Philadelphia Union before moving to Eintracht Frankfurt. These are examples of pathways, not outcomes we promise for campers. (philadelphiaunion.com, fcdallas.com, philadelphiaunion.com)

Article 19 of FIFA’s Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players generally prohibits international transfers of minors. FIFA says a transfer before 18 may be authorised only when a specific exception applies and the required process is followed. Read FIFA’s guide to minor applications. (inside.fifa.com)
